I love using fresh greenery during the holidays.
Today I wanted to share how easy it is to put them together. First I gathered clippings of spruce, cypress and magnolia. I also got some pine needles to put into the bottom of the boxes after I lined them with burlap. This will help hold moisture and hopefully keep them looking fresh all winter long, but who knows because in the south the weather can be 30 degrees one day and 70 the next.
After you put the pine needles in go ahead and soak them with water. Then you can add your first layer. I like to use something that is longer and “floppy” for this layer and I lay it all around the corners and front.
Next up I added in lots of cypress to really make them look full.
I used magnolia to fill in any areas that looked a little empty. Place them where the center face out not up.
I added the berries last for a pop of red and that is it!
P.S. It got really warm here this past week and they started to dry out a bit but that’s okay I prefer warm sunshine.
